Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the house was built in 1872 by John George Rast, remaining in the same family for 147 years.
Step back in time in this nicely period-furnished home. Tour the small museum upstairs, which holds different artifacts that were found on the property, some dateing back to late 1800's. The museum also contains photos of the family, as well as documentation about the brewery and the grist mill that John Rast had ownership in.
This property boasts beautifully decorated rooms, unique architecture, and fascinating furnishings.
We have three rooms upstairs in main house. The boiler room adjacent to the outdoor "original bathroom" on the lower level is occupied by the owners. "We arrived around 8:30pm. Cherie made us feel right at home. She educated us on the history of the home and the Rast family. We were asked what time we would like to have breakfast and turned in early. Mike made the best coffee and tasty breakfast. We sat outside in the back. It was lovely! "
